Campbelltown Book Club Dates 2011

Morning group (10.30am) will be reading The Pages by Murray Bail and the Evening (6.30pm) Wanting by Richard Flanagan.

Depending on availability the first few titles we will be reading are:

Welcome back to Eagle Vale Book Club members for 2011, we hope that everyone had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year filled with lots and lots of reading. Our next meeting will be Tuesday 22nd February and we will be discussing 'The Year of the Flood" by Margaret Atwood, (purely coincidental, as this title was chosen last year).

TALKING HEADS

Upcoming author visit and talk by Margaret Owen Ruckert.
Wednesday 16th February at Campbelltown Library 6.30pm -8.30pm.
Cost is $5.00 (and includes light refreshments)

Margaret will be discussing her new book "You Deserve Dessert". A food fantasy of poems and mini stories that fuel a tongue in cheek ride across dessert country, where cakes become characters.

Margaret is an educator, poet and former winner of the National Poetry Competition of the Society of Women Writers.

It has book reviews, who writes like who suggestions, author, title and series recommendations, reading lists and a huge amount of other information you would need to find a good book.
Please be aware this is an American site so the depth of the Australian content isn't huge but it still is a great site for all your reading needs.

Good day all!

With the end of the year upon us there is only 1 more get together for the year.
The morning group will be meeting on the 22nd December at 10.30am in the library meeting room discussing Wanting by Richard Flanagan with the evening group meeting on the 15th December at 6.30pm and discussing Murray Bails The Pages.

In the new year there will be no January meeting for either group, we will be restarting on the 23rd February 2011.
I would just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Carolyn and myself.

This is Wendy from Eagle Vale Book Club, just letting you know that our last meeting for this year will be on Tuesday 30th November, 10.30am.

The book for discussion will be Breath, by Tim Winton. We will be having a small Christmas morning tea following our meeting to start off the Festive Season.

Author visit and discussion by local author Angela Peris to discuss her book Loving Your Heart.
Angela's book is written for everyone to understand how the heart works, what causes heart disease and heart attacks and how to look after the heart with love.

Angela will also conduct free heart health checks.
Copies of Loving Your Heart will be available for sale and signing.
